British High Commissioner meets MDP officials

The new British High Commissioner Dr. Peter Hayes met with senior members of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) on 08 May 2008. The meeting was held after Dr. Hayes presented his credentials to President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.

The meeting was attended by chairperson-elect and MP for Male’ Atoll Ms. Mariya Ahmed Didi, national presidential candidate Mr. Mohamed Nasheed, MDP Vice President Mr. Ibrahim Hussain Zaki, and Secretary General Mr. Hamid Abdul Ghafoor.   
 
At the meeting the newly appointed British High Commissioner was briefed on the goals of the MDP within the National Unity Alliance as well as on the future targets of MDP.
